Samsung Galaxy S to have in-browser flash support?

Okay. Samsung Glaxy S (aka i9000) is one of the most sought after upcoming Android device out there right now. Amazing 4″ Super AMOLED display, 1Ghz Cortex A8 ARM cpu, 512MB RAM, native dvix/xvid video playback support, 720p HD video recording and playback, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n support to name a few.

One thing it was said to be missing was the native Adobe flash support in the web browser. Even recent reviews posted at various websites of this device confirmed that it was using Android 2.1 Eclair and it didn’t have flash support in the browser.

However, something must have changed as the official website for the Samsung Galaxy S tells you different. See below screenshot that I took today. (To see it yourself, just scroll to around 7:18pm in the flash applet on their site and view the Internet Browser box)

I can only expect this to be Adobe Flash Lite support and not the full fledged Flash 10.1 support that is available in the Android 2.2 Froyo version. Nonetheless, this is good news as Froyo update will be months away most likely and some flash site support is better than none.

Words have been flying about that it will be released in UK at June 15th through Vodafone and late July for US thtough T-Mobile.
